This course is suitable for healthcare workers who will be involved in the performing and reporting of spirometry, who are looking for formal training which can lead to ARTP assessment. Please note, this course compromises of multiple dates: 18th May face-to-face, 19th May online, 1st June face-to-face (half day)
To support delegates in completing the ARTP assessment, the place of practice will need to commit to providing a spirometer which aligns to the ARTP requirements; has the ability to print z-scores, graphs of all attempted blows and uses GLI2012 or GLI Global reference range as the predicted values and to ensure the spirometer undergoes annual service and calibration as per manufacturer guidance. It is recommended that applicants have basic computer skills (use drop down menus, select and accept options on a digital platform) and are able to understand and perform basic mathematical operations (multiplication, division, decimals and percentages) to successfully complete the ARTP assessment process. Protected time within the clinical setting will be required to enable the delegate to complete the ARTP assessment process.
